40 Years of doing the same thing and getting the same old result…

… can you relate?  This might apply to a few areas in my life, but most recently, I noticed it with my handstands.  For most of my life, I have been practicing handstands in yoga class and on my own by kicking my legs up to the wall and trying to balance there.

And for40 years, my handstands looked more or less the same.


A few months ago, I decided enough is enough!

I was going to see if I could break through this 40-year plateau and finally be able to do a handstand without a wall.  So I did what a lot of people are doing these days…

I hired a coach!

She showed me where I needed to firm up my core, where I needed to open up my shoulders and how to use my hands and fingers for balance (no-one had ever told me that before!).

… she had me doing a handstand in the middle of the room and holding myself there with no support for several seconds.  Then, when I wobbled, she was there to steady me and encourage me to “fight for it!”
